Marnebek School is a specialist school for boys and girls. After receiving a $38.8 million capital works grant from the Department of Education, the school underwent a complete rebuild over three years. The transformation required new signage that would reflect the modern facilities while maintaining cohesion across both campuses and supporting the needs of students and staff.

Challenge

Following the extensive rebuild, Marnebek needed signage that would create a cohesive identity across both campuses while still reflecting each campus's individuality. The administration building's entrance was particularly noteworthy, with a small door that was difficult for visitors to locate. As a special needs school, safety was paramount, and any signage installation needed to protect students. Beyond practical concerns, Marnebek wanted signage that would embody their values and create a strong identity that reflected who they are and who they want to be.

Solution

Corporate Sign Industries worked with Marnebek School through a Visual Signage Workshop to create a cohesive identity that united the school’s logo, colours, and new buildings. The updated signage included a welcoming timber-clad entrance, clear directional signs positioned above the fence line, and a hero sign with an electronic screen to communicate with parents. Illuminated map signs enhanced wayfinding, and all installations were carefully scheduled outside school hours for safety. The result is a unified, modern signage system that reflects Marnebek’s values across both campuses.
